To be sure... to be sure: off to Ireland

Tonight is our last night in Germany. Tomorrow we head off to Ireland for 2 weeks.

The stay in Germany has been great for Tony from the perspective of catching up with relatives and his heritage. He has reunited with relatives and met cousins here for the first time ever. Tomorrow morning we are off to the Zoo in Frankfurt to see if we can find some more "distant" relatives to be reunited with!

What made Germany special for us....

Delightful time with loved ones
Stunning scenery
Great architecture
Lots of forests
Very affordable place to holiday (once you get here)
Beer
More beer
Efficient transport
Even more beer
Lovely mild weather (only 3 of 10 days with rain, rest were warm / sunny and / or mild)

What we expect that will make Ireland special for us....

Do I hear the word beer???

tony & hil,
we're enjoying your trip with your reports and pics.

When we were in Bavaria in 1985 we visited the cathedral in Ulm but it was being worked on so we couldn't climb it. that's my story and I'm sticking to it.

G'day mates
Great to read your reports. Don't worry about being homesick - you are only missing election stuff. Now watch out for the little green guys in the emerald isle. I hope you are finding time to brush up on your 500. We are looking forward to lots of satories on your return over seveal bottles of good reds. Tu ru.

Hey Jess
I am highjacking this site to say hello and thank you for your lovely card. You take after the thoughtful Rows (or is that Sawyers!!!). Mandy was also happy to get hers as well. Have a great trip with Tony and Mum and keep an eye on their beer consumption. Tell them they have to walk 5 kms for every pint. And Ric said warn them not to kiss the blarney stone cause the locals piss on it! Say hello to James from us. Lots of love and kisses.

Hi Tony & Hilary,
Great to hear you are having such a good time. Have a beer for me - already missing the Kõlsch from Kõln/Cologne.

Back home it's now sort of winter. Except it rains most days and we had a cracker of a thunderstorm last week. Rather weird.

Take care!

Hi Tony.

Sounds like a great adventure...

I have climbed that cathedral in Ulm myself albiet a Long Time Ago.

I recall this was 1979 whilst I was in germany on business, I was working for Daimler Benz and a friend had me stay at his home for a weekend and he lives in Ulm.

I recall the winding staircase was Very Narrow!

Come back safe!

Good to hear you're having such a great time in Europe. There has been plenty of rain over here over the last week, but all the same try and bring some back with you.
Say hi to Jess for me when you see her!

Hi,
I've been keeping track of travels and wish I was with you. Your jaunt through Germany brought back lots of memories and I'm absolutely positive that you would have had a ball. Such a challenging task - drinking all that beer!!
